Black Lives Matter Protest

I think Jacinda Adern’s statement that she had released on TVNZ1's Breakfast this morning, was her way of understanding all the hurt & frustrations everyone had been going through ever since George Floyd’s death had occurred yet she was worried about the breeches made regarding the Pandemic.

“The breaching of Alert Level 2 rules at the protests should have resulted in prosecution for the organizers.” - Winston Peters. Winston Peters’s statement had been very short yet he did make his point that he thinks the organizers of the protest should be charged with criminal charges, yet he never stated if he was against the whole protest or not.

I understand the reasoning of why people had protested but I do think they did breach the restrictions that were given & they did put a lot of people in harm’s way involving the Pandemic. I think the person or group of people who had planned this protest could have thought more about the situation the whole of New Zealand has just come out of (Lockdown) but I do have an understanding of their emotions regarding the deaths of many African Americans due to racism. I agree with Winston Peters statement, I do think the group or person who had planned this protest should be charged due to the dangers of 100+ gatherings & breeches of the Pandemic.
